A few of us have stayed close to Drew Park and to each other for all these years. Others left the area and did not look back. Then the Internet happened and we became a community again.
We met online to talk about our childhood memories, to share photos, and to ask about friends. We discovered that our unique recollections were actually part of a neighborhood experience that many shared.
Some of the most important relationships of our lives were forged in that long ago time. Some of the most important lessons we ever learned were taught in that difficult and disadvantaged place.
Now, when the kids or grandkids ask, "What was it like when you were growing up?" you can answer the question in new ways. Through the Facebook group and this companion site, the contributions of the entire neighborhood can be shared with them.
It's why we are here.
